Founder's Statement
MMÉLÌ Arts Foundation was established in response to a structural gap. Across Nigeria and much of Africa, exceptional creative talent exists alongside limited access to grants, fellowships, residencies, and institutional development pathways. The issue is not talent. It is infrastructure.
MAF was founded to strengthen that infrastructure. Our focus is deliberate: expand access, build sustainable creative ecosystems, and invest in artists and cultural practitioners through structured programs that prioritise accountability, professionalism, and long-term impact.
We believe cultural growth requires more than visibility. It requires systems. If access is uneven, then responsible institutions must work to rebalance it. That is the work we have chosen.
